Night Out in Midtown Crossing

This summer was filled with Thursday nights in Midtown Crossing, taking in whatever free music they had and drinking cheap (but still delicious) wine and trying not to spill it (unsuccessfully).  The atmosphere and venue made for pretty perfect summer nights.

This summer, the Cavanagh family met up for our annual camp trip. But beforehand, we celebrated my cousin's wedding in my aunt and uncle's beautiful backyard.  I got to snap some photos of the wonderful day, and now you get to enjoy them.  You're welcome!

My Mom is a Rock Star

Did you know my mom is amazing? If you know her, then I'm sure you do.  She's pretty much the most badass woman I know.  She's such an amazing person.  I can't even begin to explain her to you, because words can't do her justice.  I meant to make this post for Mother's Day, but life got in the way (like it always does), so I thought I'd do it today, on her last day of chemotherapy.

A little while ago, I convinced my mom to do a StoryCorps interview with me.  I wanted to talk to her about what it was like going through my dad's diagnosis, treatment and death just to turn around and  get diagnosed herself.  It was so nice to talk to her about it, and to have the recording.  I wanted to share it with anyone who wants to listen.  So here you go.

Dan's Surprise Birthday

Tara threw Dan an amazing surprise birthday party for his 30th birthday.  There's an arcade bar in Benson called Beercade and Tara rented out the basement for the hoop-da-lah. Beware, there are man boobs in this post...

So this happened...(yes, that's my mom with a shirtless Schmeider)

I think Tara was just as surprised about how many people showed up as Dan was!
